When my best friend had the beautiful Cleo I was so happy to be able to design a new baby blanket crochet pattern for her. Cleo’s Mum (who now has three gorgeous girls) loves all things vintage but not frumpy and so for each new arrival I’ve tried to design a vintage style blanket with an heirloom feel but with a nod to the modern and Cleo’s Cloud Blanket is what I came up with this!
I went for a subtle cream colour and focussed on adding texture with some really simple crochet stitches to make the blanket easy to make but beautiful to look at.

Yarn
I designed the blanket in Sirdar Snuggly DK which is perfect for baby blankets or garments that are made for comfort and cuddling. The entire blanket only took five balls of yarn so is a really budget friendly make.
The yarn is 55% nylon and 45% acrylic, 165m/50g and there are over 40 beautiful shades to choose from!
You can use any DK weight for your project (or any other weight if you wan to change the size). Some great options for alternative yarns are:
Gauge and Sizing
The finished blanket measures 75cm by 60cm so is great for using as a Moses basket blanket or baby car seat cover.
Gauge of main pattern: 17st and 10 rows = 10cm x 10cm
Materials
Along with the yarn you will also need:
A 4mm (G) crochet hook
Notes
A ch1 at the beginning of a row does not count as a stitch.
A ch4 at the beginning of a row does count as a stitch.
