I’m so happy to be able to finally share something I’ve been working on for ages – my Afternoon Tea Blanket Collection!
I am lucky enough to work with some wonderful people and the fab folks at Deramores asked if I’d like to design something with their Studio DK yarn so of course I went for blankets! I wanted to create something that was easy and accessible for everyone and also economical if you chose to buy the yarn pack too.
All of the patterns are completely free to download as PDFs from the Deramores site (I’ll pop the link below).
They come in sets of two – a beginner PDF and an intermediate PDF.
Beginner Afternoon Tea Collection:
These are the Oolong and Lapsang Blankets. The patterns are a really simple repeat, are in both UK and US terms and I’m also working on some step by step photos to help anyone out that would like it.

(If you only want to download the free PDF then just change the dropdown menu to say ‘Digital Pattern’).
If you like the colours I’ve used then you can also buy the yarn pack (perfect as a Christmas treat to yourself I’d say!) and you can make both the Oolong and Lapsang Blankets with the yarn in the pack.

Intermediate Afternoon Tea Collection:
These are the Assam and Darjeeling Blankets. The patterns are a bit more complex than the Oolong and Lapsang but completely achievable for anyone willing to give them a go. They are in both UK and US terms and I’ll be posting the step by step photos soon too.

Like the beginner pack, if you purchase the yarn pack then you’ll have enough yarn to make both the Assam and Darjeeling blankets!

The Colours:
I worked really hard to create a collection of colours that work well as a whole (the Oolong and Lapsang use all twelve shades) and that also split to make two very different palette (the Assam and Darjeeling use six shades each). Without really trying I’ve ended up with a vintage style collection that is intended to feel timeless but with a few fun twists in it.
Of course if you prefer to select your own colours then just go and raid your stash!
I’d love to see your finished blankets so please pop them over on Ravelry or tag them with #afternoonteacollection over on Instagram.
