This textured crochet baby blanket pattern, worked in easy post stitches, creates a beautiful, plush fabric that’s perfect for little ones. The raised stitches add depth and a cozy feel to the blanket, making it a wonderful choice for both babies and adults.

While designed with babies in mind, the pattern is easily adjustable to create a larger lap blanket, making it a versatile option for anyone. The post stitches give the blanket a rich, tactile quality that will be loved by both the youngest and the most seasoned crochet enthusiasts. Plus, it’s simple enough to customize the size, whether you’re working on a snug baby throw or a more generous lap-sized version for men.

You can carry on reading to find the free pattern here in this blogpost or purchase an ad-free, printable PDF version of the Silver Squares Baby Blanket crochet pattern in my stores to download and print.

If you don’t want to download the PDF then that’s absolutely fine too – read on for the full pattern for free here on this blogpost.

Yarn

My original blanket used Drops Belle (53% cotton, 33% viscose, 14% linen) (50g/120m) – 8 balls of Silver but a lovely alternative is:

Scheepjes – Linen Soft (47% cotton, 27% linen, 26% acrylic) (50g/135m) in a colour of your choice.

Finding the right yarn for your projects can be tricky sometimes and depends on so many things like fibre content, yarn weight, budget, colour choices and more. I’ve put together a guide for the best yarn for crochet blankets to help you discover the things I’ve learnt over the years as both a designer and maker that help me choose the perfect one.
